Founded in 2020, Imagen is known for AI-powered editing tools for photographers. Now, they’re entering the video space with a public beta, starting with a fully automated color correction tool called Imagen Video. Their first feature works frame-by-frame, speeding up one of the more time-consuming stages of post-production to color correction. Let’s take a look at it!
The idea for Imagen grew out of personal frustration when one of the founders waited three months to receive his wedding photos. He learned that the delay came from the long, painstaking post-production process. That experience led him to wonder if AI could help save photographers’ time without losing the individuality of their work. Now, since their launch in 2020, the company says they have processed over a billion photos and are estimated to be used on roughly ten percent of all wedding images in the US.
Imagen Video – Beta release
The new beta release brings that same approach to video. The aim is to analyze and adapt to an editor’s individual style and is meant to speed up post-production while keeping creative control in the hands of the user. The Profile Adjustment feature allows editing the parameters of the AI Profiles provided and tweaking them to better reflect the editor’s personal style, so that it can be applied to an entire sequence at once.

Integrates into Adobe Premiere
The video beta starts with color correction that integrates directly into Adobe Premiere. Editors can choose a style profile, and the system will adjust each frame’s lighting, contrast, tone, and exposure to match. Results can be refined manually, helping keep scenes consistent without the repetitive work often done in tools like DaVinci Resolve.

What you should know
This beta is color correction only. You still need to export clips from Premiere, upload to Imagen’s app for grading, and then re-import the finished result. All grading happens through Lumetri, so you maintain full visual control. According to Imagen, sequence-building is in the final stage of development. This tool will automatically select and organize clips based on creative input.

Why speed matters
Video content is in higher demand than ever. Social media posts, marketing videos, and client projects are often needed within days or even hours. Editors face tight deadlines and the expectation of top-quality work. Tools that speed up repetitive tasks and still give creative control to an editor are becoming must-haves for anyone managing several projects at once.
